The 76th
annual Golden Globe Awards is set to kickstart the Hollywood award season in
2019. A day away from announcing the winners, we figured it is time to refresh
the memories of the viewers about the extraordinary films and performances that
got nominated for this year’s Golden Globes. Though, there were many films that
received nominations, there were also some who didn’t and in words of the fans,
were snubbed or robbed of the opportunity to be called an award-winning film.
Academy
Award-winning actor, Christian Bale, best known for his captivating
performances in films like The Fighter, The Dark Knight trilogy and others, had
starred in the critically-acclaimed film Vice in 2018. The film received the
maximum number of nominations in this year’s Golden Globes – a total of six
categories.Meanwhile, the Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga starrer, A Star Is Born
finished a close second in the nominations race with a total of 5 nominations.
Marvel’s Black Panther also received a nomination in the Best Motion Picture –
Drama category. However, the biggest snub of the year is probably Damien
Chazelle’s space odyssey First Man, which told the story of Neil Armstrong –
first man on the moon – played by Ryan Gosling. All it got was a nod for Claire
Foy’s supporting role and one for Justin Hurwitz’s background score.
